Update on Sam....He has officially graduated from Basic training and left Fort Sill, OK and has now been at Fort Leonard Wood, MO for about a week. His awesome brother Ben flew out there for his graduation and took pictures for me! I havn't seen any of them yet, but I was promised pictures. I don't know when I'll get a hold of those pictures, but it's not like I have my own computer available anyways. No rush. I'm planning on making it to Sam's AIT graduation in January so maybe we will do a big Sam post then.
As for an update on our holiday plans...
Jett and I will be flying in PHX on Dec 13th and stay in AZ for a couple days. Then we'll make our way up to Utah and move into our apartment. I have officially paid the deposit for the new place...and got a sweet deal....free first and last month rent! I can't even express how excited I am to sign a 12 MONTH contract. We have never lived somewhere for that long. Then we'll head up to SLC to pick Sam up from the airport on Dec. 18th!!!!!!!!!!
I only booked him a one-way home for Christmas and then we'll drive back to Missouri together. I'll stay for the 2 weeks he has left until graduation and we'll make our way back home. He will already have missed the first few weeks of the semester so no rush there. Past that....there are no real plans....
Anyhow....now about Jett....
I've always wanted to be able to give my baby boy a mohawk....little did I know that would not be an option. I've tried several times and he just has too much hair! This afternoon after Jett's bath I tried again....still too long. He has even had another hair cut recently....

Sometimes when Jett wakes up he is playful and other times not so much (for example he has gone back to waking up every 3 hours to eat every night), but I try to encourage him to be happy when the sun is up. As long as he isn't hungry he does pretty good.
His favorite is to press his body against the mesh and get tickled or putting his hand up to mine...

I still can't get this kid to eat solid baby food! He's pretty stubborn at refusing it. The only source of nutrition has been through nursing. Just in the past week he has made vast improvements with finger foods. He LOVES cheerios! I've also tried bread, cheese, broccoli, apples, pancakes (he LOVES syrup), bananas and pasta. He even had part of a cookie, which was perfect since Ady only digs out the chocolate chips and leaves the rest.
It's like how my sister and I used to (still do when we are together) split lemon meringue pies, she eats the top and I eat the lemon filling. We both got double of our favorite part. No need to waste tummy space if it's not wanted.
Any ways....He sure gives some funny faces when I try to give him baby food.

It's like he is thinking "ha! i know what you're going to try next and it's not going to work either!"

But I will gladly feed myself cheerios!
The best is when he gets mad that his chubby fingers aren't coordinated enough to stuff anymore cheerios in his mouth.

And for more benefits of Jett eating cheerios. Just like the african rhino has bird friends who eat the ticks off their bodies.....Jett and Ady have developed a symbiosis type of bond too. Jett drops cheerios all over the place and Ady comes around and cleans up his mess. Who knew you were going to get a science lesson today while reading my blog....
