Jenna's shower....

My friend Rachel and I threw a little baby shower for our friend Jenna. I thought it turned out fairly well. We had a couple things not work out and last minute we had to just deal with it but i thought it was fun.
It was just a traditional shower with a couple games, food, and gifts.
Here are the guests analizing diapers to guess what candy bar is melted in each one. We learned a few ways how not to melt a candy bar in the microwave.
1- diaper will catch fire in the microwave.
2- candy bars will burn and start smoking very heavily in microwave (and fill your house will burnt smelling smoke moments before the party starts.....and will ruin the bowl holding chocolate.
3- it is worth watching people put a nasty looking diaper in their face.

We also had our guest guess what each baby food flavor was.....this can also be quite nasty. We spared our guests and didn't force them to try the baby meats.
There was one more game but since i was running it there are no pictures.

We kept the food pretty simple....just some pasta salad, fruit and water/juice. But I really wanted to show off the cute little baby carriage we made out of a watermelon. We found out at the last minute that one of the spouts to the drink things was broken so that was a bit of a bummer but o well.
Then the whole point of a shower....for the mom to recieve gifts! Here is Jenna....
Shannon made this darling diaper bike!
 And that's about it!

Cute watermelon carriage! You definitely learn to be flexible when trying to do things as a mom and hosting a party! Just go with the flow. By the way I like your entertainment center.

Showers always tend to be more stressful then you think they will be. But yeah, nobody really cares so its good that you can just relax and not worry about the small things. Thats what Im working on...always. Im impressed with the cute watermelon carriage!! And if that blanket on her lap in the last pic is a gift, kudos to whoever made it...its adorable.

The watermelon carriage is fantastic. You can never ruin a baby shower as long as the mom is happy and she gets lots of gifts. She looks like she did both so KUDOs to you Rachel for hosting the party. Your new furniture looks nice and so does the entertainment center.
